Business Licensing Opportunities from US$9,500. Business performance depends on location, enrolment, operating costs, staffing, local execution and market conditions. All investment figures are estimates.
This table is the starting point for any cost comparison. Use the figures as a guide to the relative scale of investment by track — not as a final quote. Final investment levels are confirmed by CIY.Club during the qualification process and depend on territory, market and specific circumstances.
What the licence fee covers
The licence fee for any CIY.Club track covers:
- Curriculum access — the coding, robotics and AI programme developed by ScopeIT Education, Australia and accredited by STEM.org (USA)
- Learning management system (LMS) — the platform used to deliver classes and manage students
- Structured coach training — the training framework that prepares you to deliver the programme
- Competition pathway — access to national and international student competitions
- Territory rights — the right to operate under the CIY.Club name in your licensed territory
- Brand access — the right to use the CIY.Club identity in your market
The licence fee does not automatically cover everything you need to run the business. The sections below describe what sits outside it.
Costs the licence does not cover
For all tracks, the licence fee does not cover:
- Local business registration and any applicable regulatory fees in your country
- Local marketing and student acquisition costs — how you attract students is your responsibility
- Personal equipment: computer, webcam, high-speed internet (for the online track)
For the Physical Learning Centre and higher tracks, additional costs include:
- Venue: lease or purchase costs for your premises
- Interior fit-out: furniture, layout, signage, any required modifications
- Hardware: computers or tablets for student workstations; robotics kits if applicable
- Local staffing: the licence covers your coach training, not the wages of any coaches you hire
These categories are consistent across any technology education centre — licensed or independent. The licence removes development costs (curriculum, platform, brand); it does not eliminate operational costs.
Ongoing costs to plan for
Beyond the initial investment, running a CIY.Club centre involves ongoing costs:
- Staffing: coaches, administrators, and any support staff
- Marketing: maintaining student enrolment requires ongoing local marketing effort
- Platform access: ongoing LMS and system access (fee structure confirmed in the licence agreement)
- Premises (physical centre): rent, utilities and maintenance
The specific ongoing royalty or fee structure has not been publicly confirmed. It is logged as a question in BUILD-NOTES.md. Ask for the current ongoing fee schedule during your qualification discussion.
How revenue is generated
Revenue is generated as a recurring monthly student subscription. Students pay on a recurring monthly basis. This means your revenue grows as you enrol more students and retain them month to month — rather than relying on one-off enrolments.
Lowest-cost route in
The lowest-cost entry point to CIY.Club licensing is the Online Coaching Partner Licence, starting from from US$9,500. It requires no physical premises, no hardware beyond standard computing equipment, and is designed for individual operators.
For partners who want to start online before committing to a physical centre, this track allows you to build student numbers and operational experience before making a larger investment.
What determines your final investment level
Your actual investment level depends on:
- Track — online licence is the lowest; country master is the highest
- Territory — some markets carry different pricing due to population size, competition and market potential
- Market — venue costs, labour costs and local marketing costs vary significantly across the 12+ countries where licences are available
None of these factors can be assessed without a conversation with CIY.Club. The qualification form is the starting point for getting a figure that applies to your specific situation.
