What is a coding and robotics education licence?
A coding and robotics education licence grants a partner the right to deliver a technology education programme using an established curriculum, brand, learning platform and training system. Instead of spending years developing materials, building software and establishing a brand, a licensee starts with a working system and focuses on delivery and student enrolment.
The licence defines the territory, the permitted use of the brand and curriculum, the training the licensee receives and the ongoing relationship with the licensor. Unlike an independent school, a licensed partner operates within an agreed framework — which provides structure and support, and means some decisions are made at the licensor level.
CIY.Club is the global licensing brand for a coding, robotics and AI education programme. The curriculum was developed by ScopeIT Education, Australia and is accredited by STEM.org (USA).
What does the CIY.Club licence include?
Every CIY.Club licence includes:
- Curriculum — the coding, robotics and AI programme built on materials from ScopeIT Education, Australia
- Learning management system (LMS) — the platform used to deliver classes and track student progress
- Structured coach training framework — so partners do not need prior coding experience to deliver the programme
- Competition pathway — access to national and international student competitions organised by CIY.Club
- Territory rights — defined in the licence agreement
- Brand access — the right to operate under the CIY.Club name in the licensed territory
The specific scope of each item is set out in the licence agreement. Partners should request the full agreement terms during the qualification process and seek independent legal advice before signing.

Who each track suits
Online Coaching Partner Licence — suited to individual educators, tutors, career changers and home educators who want to run a virtual coding academy without a physical premises. The lowest starting investment level makes it the entry point for most new partners.
Physical CIY.Club Learning Centre — suited to operators who want an established local presence with a dedicated venue. Relevant for existing tuition centre owners looking to add a technology curriculum, or for partners who have identified a strong local market for in-person technology education.
Premium Centre / Regional Business Opportunity — for experienced operators who are ready to scale beyond a single centre. This track allows partners to establish multiple locations across a region.
Country / Master Licensing Opportunity — for investors and education groups seeking national rights, with the ability to expand through a sub-licence network. This is the highest-commitment track and suits partners with significant operational experience and access to capital.
How the revenue model works
CIY.Club operates a recurring monthly student subscription model. Students pay on a recurring monthly basis rather than as a one-off enrolment fee. This creates a predictable revenue stream for operators and aligns with how parents typically budget for extracurricular activities.
The low-inventory, high-margin, knowledge-based operating model means partners are not managing physical inventory — the main inputs are coaching time, the digital platform and student acquisition. The structure is the same whether delivery is online or in a physical centre.
How the licensing process works
The first step is to complete the qualification form at the CIY.Club business site. The form helps CIY.Club understand your background, market and goals. Following that, the team discusses territory availability, the most suitable licence track, and the terms of the licence agreement.
This is not a commitment. The qualification form starts a conversation. Partners should use that conversation to ask about fee structures, territory terms, ongoing support and any questions arising from the licence agreement.
Note: the full step-by-step onboarding process beyond the qualification form has not been confirmed by the client and is logged as a question in BUILD-NOTES.md.
Is this a franchise?
No. CIY.Club operates a licensing model, not a franchise. The distinction matters in practice — licensing and franchising carry different legal requirements, different levels of operational control and different ongoing fee structures in most countries.
